Some think that coffee is essential for a long work day; others might live on tea. For the coffee lovers the biggest brands out there are Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, Dunkin’ Donuts & McCafe. Whether you go through a drive-thru or make your own at home these are the best ranking brands in America. Studies show about 80% of American adults drink about a cup in a half per day. The Huffington Post points out that 400 million cups of coffee are sold each day, making America the leading consumer of coffee in the world. But what is it that makes American’s go crazy for it, is it the freshly brewed aroma in the morning or is it the brand that makes the coffee?

An article ranking the most expensive coffee in the world shows that these coffee brands should only be consumed in a one cup fashion.

  1. St. Helena Coffee Company’s Island

This brand makes its coffee about 1,200 miles from the coast of Africa. This brand is $79/lb. If you truly want to taste the flavors of the rain forest than this might be your cup of Joe.

 

  1. Hacienda La Esmeralda

This coffee brand is grown under the shades of old guava trees in Boquete, Panama. If this temps your tastes buds the price might bite you in the butt with an overwhelming $104/lb.

This coffee brand is very special because it is produced by an animal called the Mongoose & is widely known as civet coffee. The coffee cannot be produced until the bean has passed the Mongoose’s digestive system, then the bean can be produced into a fine cup of coffee. This brand has grown much popularity over the years and is an outstanding $160/lb.
