Look at all the Peeps on Pinterest: 5 Reasons Your Business Should Use It
I am nostalgic for the days when I dyed and decorated Easter eggs. Scavenging for hidden eggs full of chocolates (or money if you were lucky) was a tradition each spring in our Easter dresses and suits. My grandma a.k.a. the Easter Bunny, was really good at hiding our Easter Baskets. I felt like I knew every nook and cranny of her house, yet each year she stumped us all with a new hiding spot. It’s been a few years since I’ve participated in any of those activities, but I will never forget the fun and sentiment that goes with those memories.
I’ve been scrolling through Pinterest “inspired” Easter activities. Let me tell you, people are creative with Peeps. There are Peep fruit kabobs, chocolate dipped peeps, and even sushi Peeps. You can also turn your Peeps into play dough! Who knew? I know I would have never thought about combining 5 microwaved Peeps with 3 tbsp of corn starch with 1 1/2 tsp of coconut oil and rolling them into a ball to create edible play dough (your welcome, go make them now) if it were not for Pinterest. My husband may have also starved by now if I did not have Pinterest to consult for every meal of the day.
So why are there so many “Peeps” on Pinterest?
For starters, it’s a free website that allows you to sort and manage images onto pinboards. It’s a digital bulletin board full of inspiring ideas, which is why it can work for business. If your business wants any of the following things to happen, consider starting your own Pinterest Business Account:
- More traffic to your website
- Being found through Google searches
- Making sales
- Increasing the read of your products or services
- Longevity of your products or services
Referrals are the main point of the pins. Pinterest was meant to refer you to the original source. So instead of connecting people to people like Facebook, Pinterest is connecting you to the website that originated that play dough recipe. If you haven’t checked out this “pinteresting” platform for business purposes, you’re missing out. Pinterest allows you to really show people how to use your products or services. It gives the user a want and need mindset that they may not have on other social media platforms. You can convert those pins into purchases!
